Felt Types

The felt you choose for your electrolytic etching process is important and we can help you with this. Black and White types are available and either can offer really great results when used with our electrolytes, stencils and etching system, the Uno D. Black felt is very conductive so can operate at lower voltage levels and produce marks very quickly, ideal if processing time is tight. White felt relies on the electrolyte alone to react with the material surface, higher voltages are generally used, the mark is usually slower to generate but for certain materials it is preferable as this can lead to a more stable oxidation of the material surface. As part of our service we offer to test sample material for you with our range of felts and electrolytes to confirm the optimum selection for you, a report can also be supplied so that you will have this for your future reference for you and your operators.
